The main focus of the Yangon summit, organised by the Union Nations Development Programme in partnership with the UN Volunteers and UN Population Fund at Yangon’s Chatrium Hotel, was to educate youth about the new Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that were adopted by world leaders on September 25 at the United Nations General Assembly. The goals build on the existing Millennium Development Goals, with an agenda that aims to end extreme poverty, ensure quality education, fight inequality and injustice, and take action to combat climate change by 2030.
