This course will prepare student
teachers with the competencies required to teach Mathematics through the values
and attitudes of the Basic Education Curriculum for creating the types of
citizens Myanmar envisions. Problem-solving is a key skill fostered across EDC
curriculum and is particularly reiterated in Mathematics. Making the subject
more relevant to their daily lives, student teachers will not only develop
positive perceptions towards Mathematics but also facilitate their students’
attainment of problem-solving skill. Moreover, they will know how to create
learning environments for students and develop their own teaching and learning
resources, activities, and assessment approaches appropriate for Mathematics.
