The issues of educational reforms became a highlight of Thai education in 1997 when the reform proposals were more realized and put into action by the authorities involved. The education reforms had been initiated by the Office of the National Education Commission since the promulgation of the 1992 National Scheme of Education, starting with the reform of specific issue on teacher education and teaching and educational personnel development, followed by higher educational reform and reform of teaching and learning system in 1996.
