Course Description

This course, ICT for Assessment, equips educators with relevant competencies by engaging them in interactive learning. They will be able to apply what they have learnt in their teaching practice to improve students’ learning experience and learning outcome through adapting the most suitable assessment approaches. It is suggested to take the ICT Integration for Lesson Planning course in prior to/together with this course.

1.1.3 ICT Competency Framework for Teachers (ICT CFT)

1.2.2 Using ICT to Improve Learning

1.2.3 Combining the TPACK Framework and the SAMR Model

Module 1.3 Preparing to Use ICT for Assessment

1.3.1 The TPACK Framework and ICT for Assessment

1.3.2 The SAMR Model and ICT for Assessment

Module 1.4 Utilising ICT for Assessment

1.4.1 Practical Uses for Technology in Assessment

1.4.2 Strengths and Drawbacks of Online Assessment

1.4.3 Designing Online Questions

Course Objectives

This course prepares learners to understand and practice the principles, approaches, and strategies of ICT in education and for assessment.

Learning Outcomes

During this course, learners will be able to:
  • Explore the presence of ICT in Myanmar and Myanmar’s electronic readiness;
  • Investigate two types of digital divides;
  • Consider how ICT in education encourages technology literacy, knowledge deepening, and knowledge creation;
  • Explore UNESCO’s ICT Competency Framework for Teachers (ICT CFT);
  • Explore the Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge (TPACK) Framework;
  • Explore the SAMR Model;
  • Combine the TPACK framework and SAMR Model to better use ICT in the learning environment;
  • Identify how ICT can support active teaching and learning;
  • Use TPACK to prepare ICT for assessment;
  • Apply the SAMR Model to prepare ICT for assessment;
  • Identify practical ways of using ICT for formative and summative assessment;
  • Examine the strengths and drawbacks when using online assessment;
  • Explore practical ways of applying automatically marked online questions; and
  • Investigate broader strategies of ICT for formative and summative assessment.

Assessment and Certification

In order to get the certification, you need to finish all the course work, quizzes and final assessment.
