Course Description

‘Introduction to E-portfolio for Career Advancement’ highlights the importance of developing a digital teaching portfolio, especially as a means for career advancement.  As we learnt during the course ‘Portfolio Assessment’, a professional teaching portfolio is a document that showcases a teacher's professional development and growth. Portfolios were traditionally paper-based; however, recently, digital or e-portfolios have become increasingly popular. This course explains in detail the various components traditionally found in e-portfolios, and how to select evidence for each of the components. Teachers should focus on showcasing their understanding of the TCSF standards, and how they apply them within their classrooms. The course also informs teachers on how to set up their own digital website, specifically on how to select the right platform, content and artifacts for it. Finally, teachers can use the portfolio as a way to network and build connections.
