Course Objectives
This course will help you understand relevant pedagogical theories and practices in the context of Myanmar in the 21st century. It will also allow you to recognize and practice strategies for engaging students in their learning effectively.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, teachers will be able to
- Recognise the meaning of pedagogy;
- Explain how pedagogy relates to theory and practice;
- Identify 10 high impact teaching practices;
- Match 10 high impact teaching practices with examples;
- Identify the steps to learning in the learning models;
- Practice basic learning models relevant to local contexts;
- Assess the advantages and disadvantages of different teaching methods;
- Recognize the teaching methods through examples;
- Explain the importance of autonomy and student ownership in learning;
- Review active and passive learning;
- Identify the steps to implementing active learning in lesson planning; and
- Understand the relationship between positive interdependence and individual accountability in cooperative learning.
