Course Objectives

This course helps you to understand and practice the blended and virtual learning approach and models, and identify the advantages and disadvantages of the blended learning approach. 

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, teachers will be able to

  • Identify how blended learning approach is different from traditional learning approach;
  • Identify blended learning approaches in examples from the classroom context;
  • Explore the challenges of using blending learning strategy between active and passive learning and identify activities that reflect each type of learning;
  • Explore the blended learning models;
  • Identify the difference between blended learning and virtual learning;
  • Explore three ways of online engagement;
  • Examine many options for students to engage with content on their own;
  • Explore ways to foster ownership of one’s own learning and lifelong learning skills;
  • Identify respective roles and responsibilities of teachers, students, and for virtual learning; and 
  • Ensure to work efficiently using skills appropriately and realistically.
